Your information
Privacy Notice
This notice explains what happens to the details you send when you enquire about horse clipping. It is a draft UK privacy notice and is flagged below where details still need confirming before launch.
Before this site goes live, the responsible data controller’s legal name, a contact address and the retention period need confirming with the operator. Nothing here should be treated as a finished legal document until that is done.
Who is responsible for your information
South Devon Horse Clipping is a mobile horse clipping service operating in South Devon, England. The service is the data controller for the enquiry information described here.
The responsible data controller’s legal name and a contact address must be confirmed before this notice is relied on. Until that is set, please use the enquiry form if you need to contact us about your information.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number, yard postcode, the clip you are interested in, the number of horses, and any notes you choose to add. An email address and town are optional.
We also record which page you enquired from and how you reached the site, so we can tell which parts of the website are useful.
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to work out whether your yard is covered, to give you a price, and to arrange and carry out a visit if you decide to book. That is a legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have made, and in performing a service you have asked for.
We will not add you to a marketing list, and we will not pass your details to other clipping businesses.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept while your enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can answer follow-up questions, then deleted or archived. Exact retention periods will be confirmed once the business’s record-keeping arrangements are finalised.
Who we share it with
Your details are stored in this website’s secure database and are visible only to the service. We use a small number of service providers to run the website and store data on our behalf.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and browser storage
This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
We store a small amount of information in your browser’s session storage — the page you landed on and how you reached the site — so that an enquiry can be attributed to the page that generated it. It is cleared when you close the browser and is not shared for advertising.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict how it is used, and to object to how it is used. To make a request, contact us using the details on the contact page.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Contact us about your information
